Hey sweet tea friends. My post days here at STSG are quickly becoming some of my favorite days. I love hanging out with you! Now that it’s November, it is officially time to plan our holiday decor together. I have a unique take on a DIY boxwood wreath to share today. If you love to add fresh greens to your home for the holidays, but don’t have time to clip and wire bucketfuls of boxwood to a wire wreath frame, this project is for you.
I started with an unfinished wood frame, found in a box of cast-offs I bought at an online auction. I stained it first for a rich base color.
Then I added a light coat of white paint on top. I find it easier to lightly brush on the paint for a distressed look, than to cover completely and sand back. #iamthelaziestdiyeryouwillevermeet
I clipped a few sprigs of boxwood from our front yard, arranged them and glued them down with hot glue.
A few faux berries cover the awkward spot where the stems come together.
I think I’ll make a pair to hang on the double door entry to our home office. After the holidays, I can pull off the dried boxwood and use the frames for something else.
Have you started planning your holiday home yet? What’s on the top of your To Do list?
