It’s Week 4 of the One Room Challenge and after making some design tweaks based on budget, I’m excited to start showing you some progress! This week, I’m sharing some Creatively Painted Walls that are a bit out of the ordinary!
I decided to keep the turquoise walls – I actually love the color – but I wanted something a bit different to really make them pop!
My first thought was to paint one accent wall white, but that’s been done a thousand times. Then I thought I’d paint the top part of the wall, so I spent some time carefully measuring and drawing a line all the way around the room, exactly 2 1/2′ from the ceiling.
When I actually started to paint, I decided to be a little edgy and color outside the lines.
I love the line, “Creativity is messy, and I am creative.” This room is all about being creative, so the walls shouldn’t be an exception! Anybody can paint a straight line, but I am honestly loving the messy look! It’s even all the way around, but not perfect. I dig it.
Ms. Audrey was put in her place. She was on the wall where the shelving unit now sits. I also took the pennant banners down that were hanging over each window and hung them on the main wall, too.
I want to create a gallery wall here but I’m still playing with the artwork I have and trying to figure it out. You’ll see it soon.
On the wall between the windows, I hung my circular black “K” and three galvanized buckets. No supplies in them yet, but they’re hung, nonetheless.
My chair will be on the left of the table under the overhang. I’ve got another chair that will go in the opposite corner of the room with my umbrella lights, ready for me to record videos.
So, I’m making progress. What’s next?
There are only 2 more weeks left before the “big reveal” and I still have a lot of work to do:
- gallery wall
- video recording & photography corner setup
- paint the shelving unit
- pretty-up my 2 chairs
- anything else I can think of 🙂
So, I hope to see you back here next week!
