Happy New Year, and welcome to Sweet Tea 2016! 2015 was a whirlwind of awesomeness, and I have nothing but high hopes for 2016. I can’t wait to spend it with you, but before we officially dive into the bloggy goodness, I want to fill you in on the Sweet Tea brand as a whole, and a few changes you can look forward to in the new year!
Allow me to share a peek back in time so I can share how a simple blog turned into a full-fledged brand in 2015.
A BLOG WROTE A BOOK
I’ve been blogging since 2010 and learned a lot through trial and error. I love to learn and figure things out as I go along, and the knowledge I gained through paving my own way through this blog thing allowed me to offer virtual assistance services to other bloggers in the fall of 2014.
I very quickly became the go-to blogger for email marketing services. It was one of those situations where you don’t know how much you know until you start trying to help other people figure stuff out, and then you come to the realization that maybe you really do know a lot more than you thought!
So, I started writing. I wrote down everything I knew about email marketing for bloggers, and everything I knew about the MailChimp platform. I won’t bore you with the nerdy details, but all that writing turned into a 160-page workbook that I have been selling since May 2015.
A BOOK BECAME AN OPPORTUNITY
I was amazed at the doors that opened for me after launching “An Inbox of Opportunity”. I was blessed to be able to speak at Haven Conference in July, I was interviewed by Abby from Just A Girl And Her Blog for the relaunch of her book, “Building a Framework*”, and Brilliant Business Moms interviewed me on their podcast!
I started getting emails from bloggers asking me to help them design their newsletters and teach them how to successfully use email to connect with their readers on a different level.
I saw the opportunity to take this email marketing thing and do something exciting with it.
AN OPPORTUNITY BECAME A BUSINESS
I created service packages and have been coaching and teaching bloggers for about six months now on all things “email marketing”. I also host two private Facebook communities to further help bloggers pursue their passions by building a community and creating their own brand of success.
In the fall of 2015, I became a legit business y’all! Sweet Tea, LLC was born, and Sweet Tea, LLC online was launched December 1, 2015!
Sweet Tea, LLC online is home to all of my educational content for bloggers, including webinars, courses, and valuable blog posts.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR SWEET TEA & SAVING GRACE?
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking – I have all these other things going on, so I’m going to walk away from Sweet Tea & Saving Grace.
NOT TRUE! This blog is where it all started, and will now be seen as “the blog behind the business”. I’m excited for this next chapter because I feel like I’m going back to my blog roots!
Sweet tea, the drink, is what I’ve become known for, and now the overall brand will be represented here on the pages of this blog. I feel like I can share my life on a more personal and authentic level here with you. I can share behind-the-scenes stuff, family stuff, faith stuff…fun stuff!
AND, I’m bringing some friends along to make it even more fun y’all!
SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIENDS!
I sent out an end-of-year survey to y’all in my newsletter and one of the things I asked you about was whether or not you’d like a few other voices here on the blog to keep the fun content coming regularly, and the majority of the responses was a resounding “YES PLEASE!”
You ask, I deliver! I have four super sweet friends who will be visiting us once a month, and I hope you’ll give them a very sweet-tea welcome!

I’m serious – 2016 is going to be EPIC. You don’t want to miss anything. Which brings me to…
THE NEW NEWSLETTER
I mentioned earlier that I’m geeky about email, and I spent a TON of time planning how I wanted to approach my emails this year. I sincerely hope you’ll enjoy what I’ve come up with!
First, what’s going away?
I’m doing away with the email for each blog post. When I looked at my email stats, the emails y’all like best are NOT the daily blog post emails, so I’m not going to waste my time or yours.
I’m also doing away with the weekly Sweet Spot newsletter. It’s a lot of work to put those together, and I’d rather focus my time & energy on creating awesome blog posts and lots of fun free stuff that you will LOVE!
Ummm….ok…so both emails are going away? What’s left?
I have two brand new options for you!
Option #1: The Weekly Recap
Every Friday, I’ll send a quick “hey y’all” to your inbox with a recap of whatever happened on the blog that week. I’ll also include links to any fun stuff on social media like Periscope broadcasts or YouTube videos, or any awesome conversations we’re having in the Sweet Tea & Friends Facebook group.
Option #2: The Sweet Spot Monthly Newsletter
This is my new baby y’all. I’m so stoked about this monthly newsletter for several reasons. By switching from weekly to monthly, I’m able to spend more time making the content extra valuable and purposeful. Yes, you’ll get quick links to some of the best posts from the month, but there will be SO MUCH MORE going on in there!
My word for 2016 is “INTENTION”, and I’ll be sharing ways to live your own life with intention in each monthly Sweet Spot, including tips to organize specific areas of your home each month, ideas for quality family time, & how to make your home healthier!
