If you and your honey are starting to feel the effects of cabin fever from being cooped up inside all winter, spring is on the horizon! Spring is the perfect opportunity to get outside in the sunshine and fresh air together as a couple. I’ve rounded up 24 Spring Date Ideas to get you & your partner out of the house!
My husband and I are definitely lovers of the outdoors, and thankfully, we live in the South where spring usually comes early. As a matter of fact, just last week, we saw 80 degrees in February!
When I plan the 12 Months of Dates for my husband, I try to include as many outdoorsy dates as possible. A night in a movie theater just isn’t his cup of tea.
24 SPRING DATE IDES FOR THE OUTDOORSY TYPES
If you and your honey love getting outside, you’ll be sure to find some fun things in this list to do together all season long!
#1: Spring Cleaning Date Night
Why not make spring cleaning fun? Have a yard sale or sell your unwanted items online, then buy each other something special with your earnings or have a nice spring date night out on the town together!
#2: Have a Picnic
Pack sandwiches and snacks, grab a blanket, and find a shady spot under a tree or by the lake for a relaxing lunch or dinner together.
#3: Pick Wildflowers
Go pick wildflowers and make beautiful bouquets to bring home!
#4: Go for a Hike
Strap on your backpack, grab some granola bars, and pick a trail to hike together.
#5: Tandem Bike Ride
Rent a tandem bike ride, or just grab your bikes, and take a bike tour of your city.
#6: Easter Sunrise Service Then Breakfast
Easter Sunday is April 16th, so set the alarm clock early and attend Sunrise Service, then head over to your favorite breakfast place and enjoy breakfast together!
#7: Visit a State or National Park
Take in the natural beauty around you by visiting a state or national park in your area. (In Georgia? Sweetwater Creek is one of our favorites!)
#8: Volunteer at a Pet Adoption
Do something good for the community while hanging out with sweet furry friends! Pet adoptions are typically held each weekend outside of big box stores, so pick a weekend & lend a helping hand.
#9: Plan a Farmer’s Market Meal
Farmer’s markets are full of fresh produce, herbs, and flowers. Find a recipe that calls for fresh ingredients, then go shop the market together and cook dinner together, too!
#10: Attend a Baseball Game
April 2, 2017, is the first day of Major League Baseball’s season, so grab some peanuts and Cracker Jack’s and head to the ball field! Go Tigers!
#11: Mini Golf
Four!! Create a friendly competition and enjoy a round of mini golf! Whoever wins picks dinner!
#12: Plant a Garden
Spring is the perfect time to plant new flowers, start a vegetable garden or an herb garden. Plan your plants, then dig in the dirt together.
#13: Hang Out on the Playground
Be a kid again! Find a local playground and have some fun with your partner!
#14: Rent a Convertible or Jeep and Enjoy a Day Trip
Pull the top back on a convertible, or take the top and doors off your Jeep, then hit the road for a fun day trip! For even more fun, don’t follow a map – just drive and see where you end up!
#15: Progressive Dinner on the Patio
Have you ever had a progressive dinner? Each part of the meal is at a different restaurant, so pick some of your local restaurants with patios! Enjoy drinks and appetizers on one patio, dinner on another, and dessert on another!
#16: Frisbee or Football in the Park
Unleash your inner athlete! Grab a frisbee or football and head to the park for some friendly fun and exercise! (Hint: You could pair this with #2 on the list!)
#17: Take your Workout Outside
Do you and your mate love working out together? Take your workout outside for a change! Enjoy some fresh air and sunshine while getting your stretch on.
#18: Go Ziplining
See the world in a whole new way – in a blur from the treetops! My husband and I went ziplining for our anniversary a couple years ago and it was amazing!
#19: Have a BBQ on the Deck
Sure, you can grill out any time, but to make it a true date night, pick up a couple of perfect steaks, light the candles or tiki torches, and pour a glass of wine. Create ambiance with the right music, and have a spring dinner date on the deck.
#20: Enjoy Hammock Snuggle Time
Hammocks are made for snuggling! Grab a blanket, since spring evenings can still get a little chilly, then wrap up with your sugar pie and enjoy some serious snuggle time.
#21: Make a Home for the Birds
Build or buy bird houses and create safe places for your feathered friends, then sit back and enjoy their activity! We have dozens of hummingbirds visit our house each year, and they’ve grown so comfortable that they practically eat out of our hands!
#22: Find a New Seasonal Brew
Breweries are releasing their seasonal spring brews right now, so visit a local brewery and sample a few. Find your favorite and bring it home to enjoy again and again! (This would be a refreshing addition to spring date #19!)
#23: Take in a Concert
Whether it’s your favorite rock band or a symphony in the park, find an outdoor concert venue and enjoy the tunes while dancing the night away together.
#24: Go Fishing
We love to be on the water! The water itself is still a bit too chilly for swimming or paddle boarding, but it’s the perfect time to bait a hook and go fishing!
