A Skincare Routine for Dry Winter Skin

The holidays are here bringing lights, family gatherings, and dry skin. Keeping a certain skincare routine throughout the year is important, but so is tweeting it to the weather. I’ve thrown together this certain combo of skincare items that are perfect for the cool November days. The best thing about these products is that you don’t have to spend a fortune buying them!

Makeup Remover

Removing your makeup after a long day should be a relaxing and enjoyable moment, not a few minutes of swearing under your breath because it burns so bad. Since Autumn and Winter are such dry seasons, I use Neutrogena’s Hydrating Makeup Removing Towelettes to get everything off and not leave my skin suffering.

Washing

For cleansing year round, I always use the Botanics Mattifying Cleansing Mouse Shine Away cleanser. This is just a simple foaming cleanser that I really enjoy. Also year round, I use Burt’s Bees’ Brightening Daily Cleanser with Daisy Extract to even out my skin tone. But, when my skin starts to dry out from the weather, about three days a week I use Clean and Clear’s New and Improved Blackhead Eraser Scrub as a gentle exfoliant to scrub away my dead skin. (Be sure to not overdo the exfoliating because your skin will be raw and end up drying even more!)

Post Washing

Immediately after I was my face, I use Neutrogena’s Alcohol-Free Toner, and put it all over my face with a cotton ball. This helps your skin tone even out a little more, and its oil free to it doesn’t affect your oil gland production. Finally I put Clean and Clear’s Dual Action Moisturizer all over my face with my hands to make sure my skin is nice and moisturized! I also really like this one in particular because it leaves you feeling minty and refreshed.

Makeup is fun and a nice way to express yourself, but at the end of the day, skincare is extremely important. Get a solid skin care routine down to make sure you’re glowing forever and ever!

  1. During the winter I find that my skin starts to dry out pretty bad. I typically will pull out the humidifier and use it throughout the winter – it really helps. I tend not to use face moisturizer during the summer but find it to be a necessity in the winter time. Great tips, thanks for sharing!

  2. Great tips for saving your skin during winter. It’s the hardest time for skin when it gets super-dry. Thanks for sharing!

  3. I also use the Neutrogena wipes! I love them because I’m kind of lazy with taking off my makeup but obviously it’s so essential and these do the trick well and fast. Also for moisturizing, I had to recommend Yu-be moisturizing skin cream. It’s really, really effective at a little bit keeping your skin super smooth and soft all day!
