Some of my favorite photos of my daughter over the years are those we took around Halloween, usually in the pumpkin patch. I was planning to print one or two cute photos from years past to be framed and placed on our mantle as part of our Halloween/Fall decor, but I couldn’t pick just one or two! Instead, I chose one from each year, and made a Halloween Photo Garland!

Thanks to Shutterfly’s partnership with Target, I was able to print all of these awesome photos and pick them up an hour later.

Then it was time to get crafty!

I chose four patterns of scrapbook paper as the background (like a frame) for each picture.

I also picked out all of my fall/Halloween ribbon. (Don’t you love those little owls?)

I stuck each picture onto the scrapbook paper and trimmed the edges to create a frame.

Then I used these Self Seal laminating sheets to protect each picture, since I plan to hang my photo garland for years to come. (It’s super easy. Just place each picture face down on the adhesive sheet and trim it.)

To hang the photos themselves, I decided to use wooden clothespins, but they weren’t cute enough, so I added washi tape to dress them up a bit.

Lovely little clothespins!

The final step was to add the ribbon! I love this project so much! The photos start when Marley was only three years old, and there’s one for each year through last Halloween.

Isn’t it just too stinkin’ cute? I love our festive Halloween mantle!

You could do this for any occasion, like Christmas, too. It would also be a cute birthday party back drop – to have a photo of the birthday child each year since birth?! So cute!
