I realize we have almost 2 weeks until Christmas, but since this will be my last post for the year on Sweet Tea & Saving Grace I wanted to share these DIY confetti poppers. These are super easy to make and so fun for ringing in the New Year!
HOW TO MAKE CONFETTI POPPERS:
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Cake push pops
- Scrapbook paper or other embellishments
- Metallic shred
CONFETTI POPPERS TUTORIAL:
Cut a piece of scrapbook paper to the size needed to wrap around the push pop. Mine measured 5.75 inches x 3 inches but you can just eyeball it.
Secure the paper with a piece of invisible tape.
There are so many ways to decorate your confetti poppers. I like the sparkly paper but you could also use New Years stickers or a gold Sharpie marker.
If you want to get really fancy, you can spray paint the popper in gold before you begin!
If you like the labels I created (CHEERS, HOORAY and 2017), they are available in my printables library!
Once you have your push pops all decorated, fill them at least 1/2 way with confetti.
Top it off with the metallic shreds.
Put the top back on until you are ready to celebrate. You may have to fight with the metallic shreds a little (they can be stubborn!)
When the clock strikes midnight and you are ready to party, just take the tops off and push up hard on the bottom!
So fun, right? I know my kids will love these DIY confetti poppers!
Do you have any special New Year’s Eve traditions?
You can check out this post on my blog for a tradition we started this year. We’ve been collecting our “moments” for the year and we’ll go through them as a family on New Year’s Eve.
I hope everyone has an AMAZING new year!
