Have you ever wanted to create a Bible study habit? Or dig into scripture and really understand it? The Foundations of the Bible Reading Plan was created for you!
The Foundations of the Bible reading plan begins on July 1st. Grab your copy before then to follow along!

I’ve been a Christian since I was 17 years old, but I haven’t always studied the Bible. I would read it or reference it during Sunday messages, or flip it open every now and then, but I always struggled with understanding what I was reading.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that I finally grasped the idea of Bible study – intentional time in the Word with the goal of growing closer to God and applying His teachings to my life.
When I decided to step into ministry, I knew exactly what my main focus would be – helping other women dig into scripture, too. And I knew in order to do that, I would need to create Bible reading plans!
How the Foundations of the Bible Reading Plan Came to Be
As I prayed over the first Bible reading plan for Sweet Tea Ministry, I initially thought about starting at the beginning, in Genesis. I thought that seemed like a logical place to begin!
However, the Lord had other plans.
The Foundations of the Bible reading plan gives us a broad overview of the Bible as a whole – a complete work authored by God.
Yes, we’ll begin at the beginning, in Genesis, but we’ll spend two months studying select pieces of scripture from the entire Bible, both Old and New Testaments.
The goal that I have for this reading plan, and the prayer that I have for you, is this:
By the end of this reading plan, you will have an understanding of the Bible as one complete book, have a closer relationship with God, and have the foundation in place to dig deeper in studies that are based on a specific topic, event, or book of the Bible.
I firmly believe that our understanding of individual books of the Bible, people, and events, is amplified when we understand how that book, person, or event fits into the overall story of Jesus Christ.
And that’s what the Foundations of the Bible reading plan is all about!
Inside the Foundations of the Bible Reading Plan
The basic Foundations of the Bible reading plan is a 5-page PDF that is available for FREE! It includes the outline with each day’s reading listed by date, so you can easily follow along.
*NOTE: I had mine printed and bound at an office supply store. You can do the same, use a three-ring binder, or simply paperclip them together!

You may choose, however, to purchase the 64-page Foundations of the Bible reading plan book. Let me show you what’s inside.
CALENDAR VIEW
In addition to the list of daily scriptures, there is a two-page calendar spread with each day’s scripture in a box, dated. This will allow you to easily mark off the boxes that you have completed.

EXPLANATIONS OF OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT
In the Foundations of the Bible reading plan, we will cover the Old Testament in the month of July, and the New Testament in August. At the beginning of each month, you’ll find a brief overview of both the Old Testament and the New Testament.

DAILY NOTES PAGES
To help you not only read the daily scriptures, but understand and apply them, there is one page for each day’s reading with questions for you to answer.
Ultimately, each day you will observe the details of what you read (answering the ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘when’, etc.), interpret what it means, and apply it to your life.
There is even a space to write out a key verse that stood out to you each day. This is ideal for scripture memorization, if you wish to add that to your Bible study time.

WEEKLY SYNOPSIS PAGES
Finally, the Foundations of the Bible reading plan gives you one page at the end of each week to summarize what you’ve learned so far. This helps you remember the details of events, people, and other important information.
