Green Ombre Dipped Pretzels are an easy to make treat that's perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

Chocolate covered pretzels are one of my favorite sweet and salty snack combinations. They’re creamy, a little decadent, and crunchy. Yum, yum, and YUM! With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, I decided to put a holiday spin on my family’s favorite snack.

Green Ombre Dipped Pretzels are an easy to make treat that's perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

These pretzels are crazy easy to make. Melt the chocolate, dip, and easy. See? Easy. The best part about this recipe is you can customize your ombre colors to any season. Make these pretzels white, red & green for Christmas. White, pink & red for Valentine’s Day. White, red & blue for 4th of July. Pale yellow, baby blue & pink for Easter. The list goes on and on!

I love a little sparkle, so we added out own St. Patrick’s Day gold with a little disco dust. You can just dip the pretzels and enjoy or even add some sprinkles. This recipe is all about happy, fun food you can make with the kids – so make ’em how you like ’em!

Green Ombre Dipped Pretzels are an easy to make treat that’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day!
Ingredients
  • 20 pretzel twists
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil, divided
  • Electric Green food coloring
  • Leaf Green food coloring
  • Gold disco dust, optional
Instructions
  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a Sil-Pat. Lay out your pretzels on the cookie sheet.
  2. Divide the white chocolate chips into 3 small bowls – bowl #1 with 3/4 cup chips, bowl #2 with 1/2 cup chips & bowl #3 the rest of the chips.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil to bowls #2 and #3.
  4. Microwave bowl #1 for 30 seconds and then stir the white chocolate chips. Repeat heating for 30 seconds and stirring until the chips are melted and smooth. DO NOT overheat!
  5. Dip the bottom 1/2 to 3/4 of each pretzel into the white chocolate, tapping the pretzel to help remove any excess chocolate. Place the pretzel back down on the cookie sheet. Repeat until all the pretzels are dipped.
  6. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer while you prepare the next color to set the chocolate.
  7. Heat bowl #2 in the microwave for 30 seconds and then stir the white chocolate chips. Repeat heating for 30 seconds and stirring until the chips are melted and smooth. Add a few drops of electric green food coloring, and stir to distribute the color. (Add more color as desired until your desired hue is reached.)
  8. Take the pretzels out of the freezer. Dip the bottom of a pretzel into the green chocolate, but leave the white color showing at the top. Place the pretzel back onto the cookie sheet. Repeat until all the pretzels are dipped. Freeze the pretzels while you prepare the last color.
  9. Heat bowl #3 in the microwave for 30 seconds and then stir the white chocolate chips. Repeat heating for 30 seconds and stirring until the chips are melted and smooth. Add a few drops of electric green food coloring, and stir to distribute the color. (Add more color as desired until your desired hue is reached.)
  10. Take the pretzels out of the freezer. Dip the bottom of the pretzel into the green chocolate, making sure you can still see the first two colors of chocolate. Place the pretzel back onto the cookie sheet. Repeat with the remaining pretzels.
  11. If desired, sprinkle the chocolate with gold disco dust. Refrigerate the pretzels on the cookie sheet to set the chocolate. Transfer the pretzels to a serving bowl. Keep cool util ready to eat.
Notes
Don’t use vanilla bark or vanilla chips for this recipe. You want good quality white chocolate chips so the coating will be smooth and not clump when you add the food coloring.
