Has it hit you yet that Mother’s Day is next weekend??? Well, if I just shocked your system, calm down. I’ve got you covered.
I’ve put together a round-up of Mother’s Day gift ideas curated from 5 mommy bloggers (including myself – hint hint…honey, are you reading this???) to fill your head full of awesome ideas! We even have a little list of what not to get your mom, just so there’s no confusion or disappointment.
{You’re welcome.}
So, Amy, what would you love to have this year for Mother’s Day?
- Starbucks!! Anyone who knows me in real life or just through the blog {One Artsy Mama} knows this one is a no-brainer. I’m a total sucker for those fancy drinks that take five minutes to order and cost about five dollars {i.e. my most recent indulgence, a grande non-fat no-whip decaf iced mocha with toffee nut syrup and extra caramel} and their delicious banana chocolate chip bread. Plus, I love going there for breakfast or treat dates with my Little Man! We play games and talk, and it’s just the sweetest quality time. Bottom line: if you ever want to buy me a gift, you absolutely cannot go wrong with a Starbuck’s gift card!
- Origami Owl: I recently got the chance to do a review and giveaway on One Artsy Mama and I absolutely fell in love with my Living Locket. I have literally worn it almost every single day since I got it. So far, I have five charms, but I’ve got my eye on some more! Boys, if you’re reading, I really love the August heart birthstone {for Little Crafter}, the seashell, the laptop, the sewing machine, the camera, the football, the helmet…you get the idea.
- Quality Family Time: Some of my favorite memories are things we’ve done together as a family, like day trips to amusement parks or historic cities that are within driving distance. I absolutely love going to the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, the museums in Washington, DC, Ladew Gardens, and Dutch Wonderland with hubby and Little Crafter. We have picnics and just enjoy being together doing things we all enjoy. In lieu of a physical gift, I’d love an I. O. U. for a special day together somewhere fun!
- Jo Totes Camera Bag: Speaking of bags, I’ve been seriously drooling over the stylish and functional camera bags from Jo Totes. My camera bag is so bulky and blah… I’d absolutely love to have something more fun that could carry my camera, external flash, and extra lens, plus a few basic essentials so I didn’t have to drag around a separate bag and purse.
Thanks Amy! Stop by One Artsy Mama and wish Amy a Happy Mother’s Day!
Ok, next….Annette, what would you love to have this Mother’s Day?
- iPad Sleeve from Ivey Expressions: I recently bought a purse from Ivey Expressions, and I would love this iPad cover, in a charcoal grey chevron, to match.
- Chevron Wallet by KnitKnotGumdrop: This wallet would be great as well!
- Birds nest and hand stamped pendant: This necklace is so cute! Would be perfect for my 3 peas!
- Monogrammed iPhone Case: This iPhone case is adorable!
Awesome list Annette! I love supporting handmade shops! Happy Mother’s Day Annette! Visit her blog, Designs By A Rose, and say hello!
Let’s see…what mom do we have next. It’s Jen!
- Antique Costume Ring – for sale on Etsy – I love unique and fun rings to accessorize my outfits. This one is from the 1960’s and is a beautiful robin’s egg blue, one of my favorite colors.
- Rhinestone Peacock Ring – for sale on Etsy – Peacocks seem to be really popular in fashion and also home decor lately, so I guess I’m following the trend because I like them too! However I’m not one to plaster a trend all over myself or my home – so this ring is a perfect simple accent to add some gorgeous peacock style to a dressy outfit.
- Tribal Bag – from Free People, and on my Pinterest board Accessorize – I love this black bag, but let’s be realistic – it’s crazy expensive. I wouldn’t actually expect to receive it for Mother’s Day, but it’s a great inspiration piece to search for something similar at a lower price. I could totally see myself carrying something like this around at the farmer’s market or even to the playground with drinks and snacks for the boys.
- Feminine Dress – from Mikarose, and on my Pinterest board My Style – This pretty dress is both feminine and modest. It would look great dressed up or down; with heels, sandals, or even cowboy boots. It’s also pretty reasonably priced.
- Turquoise Wrap Watch – from modcloth.com and on my Pinterest board My Style – I adore wrap watches; I have three right now and I definitely have room for more! This color is fabulous and the studs give it a fun, funky vibe. Unfortunately it’s out of stock right now but the website says they may bring it back if enough people show interest. (Fingers crossed!)
Thanks for letting me share part of my Mother’s Day wish list with you – and I hope all you moms out there have a relaxing, fabulous day!
Head over to Girl In The Garage and tell Jen what an awesome wish list she has!
Now it’s my turn! WOOT WOOT!
{Hey honey, are you writing this down???}
- Anything from Dress Up: So, there’s this great little boutique that has started popping up all over Atlanta and I’m obsessed. Seriously. They get tons of new styles in every week, and I would wear just about anything they sell. And it’s all very reasonably priced, too! Score!
- Vintage Spoon Ring: I wore the heck out of my vintage spoon ring…to the point that it cracked in half. I still have it but it’s unwearable. I found this one on Etsy and it looks identical!
- Erin Condren Gift Card: I’m obsessed with my planner. I’m a paper planner, not a digital planner kinda gal. Last year I discovered erincondren.com and fell head over heels in LOVE! Her new 2013-2014 planner designs are coming out in June (*squeal!*) and I will be in need of a new planner. A gift card would be fabulous!!
That’s it for me! I’m pretty easy 😉
Ok, now, to make sure you don’t screw up and get something weird, Tarah is here from Real {Cheap} Housewives of Texas to inject a bit of humor into your Mother’s Day gift giving.
What NOT to get your mom for Mother’s Day:
- Crap Card: I’m just going to go out on a limb and say giving your mom a card with a big pile of crap on it might not go over very well. Rethink this card if you bought it or decide to buy it.
- Wine Goblet with this face on it: This was seriously under the search “mother day funny”. Not even kidding. A wine goblet would be a nice gift for your mom. A wine glass that looks like a GOBLIN? Oh heck no. I’m thinking this would be perfect for Halloween. Yep. Halloween.
- Mommy Dearest necklace: What mother doesn’t want a “Mommy Dearest” necklace? I’d own about 10 if I could but…
- Baby Mama Coffee Cozy: Maybe buy this for your mother’s MORNING drink, then buy the wine goblet for her EVENING drink. You are covered both coffee and wine, the drinks that keep her going as a mother. 🙂
So there you have it. We have fully armed you with a great list of potential Mother’s Day gifts…and some helpful tips on what not to buy dear sweet mom.
Be sure to stop by each of our visiting mom’s blogs and say hello!
I’d love to know:
* What’s on your Mother’s Day wish list?
* What’s the worst gift you’ve ever received?
* How about the best?
Happy Mother’s Day!

Great roundup! I might have to add a few more things to my list now, lol. And that “crap” card is hilariously awful!
