Simple DIY Gold Pinecone Ornaments

I have a “thing” lately for gold, and I’m not really sure where it’s coming from.  Maybe when I spray painted my Blessing Board, the gold spray paint fumes I had to sniff for a couple hours had some effect.  Whatever the reason, I’m loving gold, and I really hope you are, too, because today I’m showing you how to make some very simple Gold Pinecone Ornaments!

I’ve decided that I’m going to decorate in gold, burlap, twine, navy and cream this year, and these easy ornaments are the perfect way to start my DIY decorations!  I’m sure just by looking at the picture, you could easily figure out how to make them yourself, but just for kicks, let me give you the quick tutorial.

Grab a couple of pinecones and some Krylon Metallic Spray Paint in gold and spray, spray, spray, then let them dry.

Get some pretty ribbon – must I say it?  In gold!  Also, grab your hot glue gun while your up.  I used my skinny ribbon to make the loops on the top of each pinecone, then the wider wired ribbon (say that 3 times fast!) to make the bow.  Hot glue all of that to the top of your gold pinecone, and you’re done!

Easy peasy lemon squeazy!  Stupid simple, right?  Alright, gotta go – I’m on a quest to gather more pinecones, and whatever else I can cover in gold spray paint.

What’s your Christmas color scheme?
