DIY Dreamcatcher

Hello campers!  Have you enjoyed your first week of Summer Fun Camp?  If you missed anything, there are links to all of the posts on the Summer Fun Camp blog, so be sure to stop by!
Today I’m wrapping up our “Let’s Go Camping” week with a fun and colorful craft, a DIY Dream Catcher.
Your little campers can have a ball making their Dream Catcher bright and colorful.  It’s so easy, too!  Here’s what you need:
Supplies:
  • Fuzzy sticks/pipe cleaners
  • Pony beads
  • Craft string
  • Feathers
To make your Dream Catcher, start by twisting 3 or 4 fuzzy sticks together to form a circle.
The circle will be the foundation for your Dream Catcher, so make it as small or large as you like.
Once you have your circle, you can start adding the string and beads.  Randomly tie one piece of string to the edge of the circle, add a few beads, then tie the other end.  Repeat this process until your “webbing” in the center of the Dream Catcher is to your liking.
Once the center of the Dream Catcher is complete, tie three pieces of string to the bottom of the Dream Catcher in various lengths.  You will then add a feather (and bead, if you like) to the end of each long string.
And there you have it!  A colorful Dream Catcher!  Just add a string to the top to hang it.
To celebrate the end of our first week of camp, why not GO CAMPING!  Spend a few hours or the whole night under the stars in your own backyard!  Here are a few ideas for some fun at-home camp-outs:

Seriously, just throw down a blanket, grab some snacks, and lay under the stars.  Maybe build a small campfire and roast marshmallows and hot dogs…just GET OUTSIDE!  Enjoy the summer!
